Parallel Arm ShoesI received today’s Fixed-it Friday photo from Eyal Bedrik and Danny Estryk of Entry Systems Ltd., and I’m a bit Wordless.

If you’re not familiar with the parts used in this creative locking method, two parallel arm shoes for door closers have been mounted to the faces of a pair of doors.  The padlock connects the two shoes together, effectively locking the doors.

Although this method might secure the doors, it would make egress impossible, and it definitely would not be code-compliant.

Have you seen any creative fixes lately?  You can upload photos using the photo submission form.

Happy Fixed-it Friday!
