These “overhead” fixes are trending! Today’s Fixed-it Friday photo from John Danes of Allegion reminds me of a recent Wordless Wednesday submission.
I have to say…I’ve seen a lot worse, but what do you say? OK? Or NO WAY? What would you recommend instead?

No, I think it’s just installed in a recess.

Better than nothing for sure, but it’s alot of effort for a pretty ugly result when there are door closers with electrical hold-open functions for this exact application, so they will close and latch when the fire alarm triggers or the power goes out.
