I am sad to say that Bill Elliott, mentor and friend to many in the industry and beyond, has passed away. I met Bill when I was in my early 20’s, at a meeting the New England Chapter of DHI. That began a friendship that lasted for decades.
Bill was my instructor at hardware school, he advised me through my leadership positions in the New England chapter, and was always ready, willing, and able to answer my hardware questions. He was an avid reader of iDigHardware and an active participant during Chip Falcon’s Road Trip. Chip now lives at the Freedom, New Hampshire Public Library, thanks to Bill. We always chatted around his birthday, December 7th, and caught up on what was going on in our lives.
The first line of Bill’s obituary reads, “I’m a lucky guy,” and I can hear him saying those exact words. For those of who knew him as a teacher, coach, colleague, and friend, we’re all “lucky guys.”

Bill taught my AHC exam prep back in 2001 (?). It’s been so long ago I can’t remember. Great instructor.
Amen to that. Bill was my instructor as well. He was a wonder man and will be missed.
