Sadly, hotels are notorious for the condition of their doors and hardware; there have been many examples posted on iDigHardware. Today’s Fixed-it Friday photo shows an epic(ly terrible) “fix” on a fire door assembly. At least I’m assuming it’s fire-rated based on the fire exit hardware, and what looks like the outline of a label under the duct tape.

Wow. Just wow. I was in Lubbock, TX, two years ago and spent one night at the La Quinta Civic Center hotel. Google it and read the reviews sometime. Very entertaining but scary at the same time.
One time my car broke down and I spent 3 nights at the La Quinta in Texarkana with 3 kids and a cat. The hotel was also being used as temporary housing. We didn’t have a lot of options because of the cat, and it was definitely interesting! The entryway was a party every night!
