Brian Lane of Allegion sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photo of a hotel exit. This reminds me of the time that I wrote a specification for a hotel and the architect told me that the entry doors did not have to be lockable – ever. I wonder if those doors have since been modified.

So how do you push the push to release button ,,, than the auto opener button, not shown?
Or is it the reverse sequence?
Or will the doors not even open??
Especially with the slide locks on the bottom.
The auto opener button might unlock the maglock when it is pushed, the same way auto openers can activate the electric dogging on panic hardware when pushed on the inside.
Oh, I see the issue! The handicap button is missing! /s
Also, what happened to the bottom right corner of the design on the right door?
Problem with those two bottom flush-bolts… ?
Motion detector in the upper left corner. My guess is that it is that button or the motion detector that triggers the operator.
The bottom right corner of the right door appears to have been digitally altered. The missing trim, blurry wood graining and the odd bright spots are clues to the alteration. Must of been something to be removed there.
