I know we have seen MANY of these blocked egress photos, but this one is pretty egregious. What I’m wondering is…are there no AHJs who eat here?
Thank you to Tim Weller of Allegion for today’s Wordless Wednesday photo!

Is there a slide bolt on the back door?
Charles, That looks closer to the back plate for a Simplex 9000 push button lock, probably to allow either deliveries or employee access.
About 1/4 the way down on the right side?
Anyway cannot even get safely to the door.
Was the pizza so good the AHJ would overlook it!?
If B occupancy, then not regulated or inspected by Fire? It would have to be a customer from the FM office, in uniform and badge, to point out the violations to the business operator. A typical Plans Examiner (from the Building Department), in civilian clothes, is just another customer in people’s eyes…
I WONDER IF THE THINKING WAS “IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, TAKE YOUR LEFTOVERS, RUN OUT THE BACK AND DONT FORGET TO GET A TOGO BOX ON YOUR WAY OUT”. IF THAT WAS THE THINKING, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
P.S FLUTIE FLAKES? DO THEY STILL MAKE THOSE? LOL!
Lori,
You’d be surprised how many places I DO NOT EAT at in my village!! Whether it be the operation, cleanliness or them constantly trying to give me free food!!! I don’t want the hassle of what it may “Look” like. It may be me but…….
Need to know what state?
They may have seen this a service corridor but it may also be used for exiting.
Either way it may not be obstructed.
Fire inspector would also take issue with this.
I see this all the time in many states.
AHJs claim they are only responsible for code compliance and not to ADA complaints.
Calif has Unrhu paying a “bounty” for non-ADA compliance.
