Qasim Mousa from Allegion’s office in Saudi Arabia, sent me today’s Fixed-it Friday photo, taken at a new school. This is a great example of how so-called “value engineering” can negatively impact a project. Instead of vertical rod panic hardware on both leaves, this opening has been changed to automatic flush bolts on one leaf and a rim panic with a creative strike modification on the other. <sigh>
