I’m working on a new educational piece on school security and safety (coming soon!), and I need to include some information about how glass factors into the equation. There have been several school shootings where access was gained through the glass adjacent to the doors, or where an intruder accessed the door hardware by breaking the glass. If we focus only on securing the door without addressing the impact-resistance of the glazing, the glass becomes the weak link.
Although I have worked with glass and glazing a bit during my career, I’m not an expert in this area. Luckily, Technical Glass Products (TGP) has the necessary expertise, so today I’m sharing a resource that is helping me learn more.
Check out TGP’s School Solutions Hub for answers to your questions about creating safe learning environments in educational facilities.
