Don’t worry…it’s not actually November yet! But there’s some training coming up next week that I don’t want you to miss – including a couple of sessions that I’m presenting. I hope to see some of you there!
I’m still on the road, so if you have code questions, please contact your local ACE (Allegion Code Expert). The orange ball in the right sidebar will lead you to a list of ACEs by state.
Wednesday, November 2nd
November 2nd and 3rd, I will be in Pittsburgh for the DHI conNextions conference, and on Wednesday the 2nd from 8:00-9:30AM I will be teaching a new class:
Code Update for Access Control and Electrified Hardware
There have been many recent code changes that apply to electrified hardware, and there are more changes coming in the 2024 model codes. This will be an interactive class, where participants will work together to choose the correct components for various types of electrified locking systems, as designated by the International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 101 – Life Safety Code.
You can read more about this class on the DHI conNextions website.

Later in the afternoon on the same day, I will be doing a short presentation in the Innovation Theater on the tradeshow floor from 3:00-3:20PM:
I Dig Hardware…Do you?
iDigHardware.com began on a whim in 2009 and has grown to become an important resource for the door and hardware industry. When there is a question about the requirements of the codes and standards related to door openings, the answer can almost always be found in one of the site’s 3,000+ posts. I will share some of the trials and tribulations of iDigHardware’s history, some of the resources available today, and of course, a few of my favorite Wordless Wednesday and Fixed-it Friday photos of all time.
I’ll be in the Allegion booth after this session, and if all goes as planned, there will be treats! 🙂

In this webinar session, we will cover all of this and code compliant ways to achieve lockdown status when needed.
