Ian Baron of Katonah Architectural Hardware sent me this link to an article in the Daily Mail, and although only a few of the fails in the article are door-related, the photos definitely left me Wordless!
I’m not sure which one is my favorite from this group of hotel fails…the soup dispenser, the patterned stair carpet, the “Chinese rules”…it’s impossible to choose! We could do an article of our own on hotel DOOR fails – I know that many of you stay in hotels on a regular basis because I’ve received dozens of photos over the years. I always seem to find door problems in hotels too…that seems weird, since hotels are one of the easiest types of projects to specify hardware for.
There was the hotel exit in Brussels, a hotel in Cape Cod, the one in Miami Beach (which was later made into a meme by some random person!), the one in Vermont when my kids were just little tykes, and don’t get me started on the hotel meeting rooms!
Have you seen any interesting doors in hotels lately? Don’t forget to send me some photos!

I feel sorry for any hotel that hosts a DHI show because us door dorks typically tear them apart.
The toilet paper roll doubles as a door stop, duh! Besides, who leaves the door open while doing their business?
