Our next live session on the code requirements for electrified hardware is coming up soon – November 17th! There is still time to register and submit your questions!
The November session will focus on the code requirements for Elevator Lobby Egress and Control Vestibules/Interlocks.
- Are you aware of the requirements of the 2024 International Building Code (IBC) surrounding fail safe electrified locks on elevator lobby egress doors, where the egress path passes through the tenant space?
- Have you reviewed the new section that has been approved for the 2027 edition of the I-Codes that covers the life safety requirements for doors that are interlocked, as often seen in clean rooms and high security areas?
- Do you know how to select or specify the correct products for these systems to ensure code-compliance?
This session will include a short presentation on the code requirements for these two types of systems (addressing two new code sections). After the presentation we will have plenty of time to answer questions about this topic – I’ll be joined by my colleagues Mark Lineberger and Don Cherry of Allegion. There will be additional sessions in future months covering other code requirements for electrified hardware.
If you missed either of the first sessions, there are recordings and additional information on the Live page of iDigHardware. The registration link for the third session is here, and you can leave your questions in the comments on this post or in applicable field when you register. See you soon!
