S1 Ep. 26 Alyssa’s Law and Making Our School’s Safer with Panic Button Systems
After the tragic death of her daughter, Alyssa Alhadeff, in the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, Lori Alhadeff turned her grief into action, founding Make Our Schools Safe, a non-profit organization dedicated to the safety of students and teachers, championing Alyssa’s Law, advocating for critical safety measures like silent panic alarms.
Alyssa’s Law has become a game changer, allowing teachers to swiftly and discreetly trigger a silent panic alarm to local law enforcement in instances of violence, medical emergencies, student elopement, and more. This law, passed by ten states, requires these alarms in all public K-12 schools.
