This is a great Fixed-it Friday video about the LCN Senior Swing being used by the Indianapolis Marian County Building Authority to address HVAC stack pressure on a frequently problematic entry door. I also noticed a code-related application at the 24-second mark…can you spot it? (There’s also an overhead stop installed in coordination with the operator.)

24 second?? Delayed egress door and signage?
Ok being a senior, why is it called “senior swing”?
I resemble that remark.
Yes, but not just any delayed egress application…delayed egress panic hardware on a door serving a courtroom. This would not have been allowed prior to the 2018 IBC if the courtroom was an assembly occupancy.

I like the 4-foot exit device on the 3-foot aluminum door.
Who missed filling the holes near the operator arm to door shoe, from the previous installation?
I noticed those holes too…it’s a curse! 🙂

Delayed Egress – 2021 IBC 1010.2.13
Yes! On a courtroom door where delayed egress was not permitted prior to the 2018 IBC if the courtroom was an assembly occupancy.
