Judging by the different screw colors I’ll assume this strike has been ripped out of the frame at least twice. Looks like a property manager or janitor “making it work”. Nothing is more permanent than the “temporary fix” that works.
I think just tighten the screws a little more,,,, And it will meet code.
I always use and axe and a chainsaw to install an electric strike. I don’t see a problem. LOL
I just dealt with something very similar to this. Instead of wordless, how about shameful…
When the customer doesn’t want to pay for a new prehung door, you might as well offer the much cheaper BFFW option (Big Fat Fender Washer). Of course, none of this may be necessary since the door might not latch due to binding on the hardware.
