Today’s Fixed-it Friday photos could double as a Wordless Wednesday post – this padlock and hasp have been added to the only exit serving a seating area for an indoor soccer facility. Thank you to Marc Bates of the University of Missouri – Kansas City for the photos, even though they made me cry a little.

LORI, I SEE A STAIRWELL THERE ALSO, WOULD THIS BE A FIRE RATED DOOR?
ITS SCARY WHEN YOU START TO LOOK AROUND AT THE LACK OF COMMON SENSE.
THANKS FOR TEACHING US TO BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THESE KINDS OF THINGS.
Hi Gabe –
I didn’t see this opening in person so I’m not 100% sure, but typically interior stairwell doors are fire rated. I’m glad you’re looking! 🙂

What side of the door is this?
I ask because of the placement of the pull station.
Hi K.C. –
I’m pretty sure this is the access side of the door, not the egress side, but that’s a good point about the pull station.
