As some schools are heading back to in-person classes and offices are starting to reopen, I’m receiving questions about things that are not in my normal area of expertise. Yesterday, someone asked about hand sanitizer – how the dispensers might affect clear width for egress, and the limits of the accessibility standards on mounting height and projection from the wall.
I’ll write a separate post about the egress and accessibility issues, but NFPA has a video in their Learn Something New series that addresses flammability and storage concerns, as well as a longer interview with Guy Colonna, director of NFPA’s Engineering Services division. Look for Post #2 (egress and accessibility concerns) soon.
