FF: Put a cork in it.

The accessibility standards require sliding door hardware to be “exposed and usable from both sides” when the door is open.  Today’s Fixed-it Friday photos from Darren Maxwell of Allegion show a creative way of accomplishing that (not recommended!).

    The cork does prevent from damaging the frame if the door was open too much, but that could be easily solved with the stop set correctly.

    Yes, lets attach some extremely porous, absorbent cork as door pulls on a bathroom door. Should probably hang a few hand sanitizer dispensers next to that door too.

    I guess they are going for a rustic, unique look? I give them an 8.5 for creativity and style, but a 2 on effort.
