Jim Elder of Secured Design LLC sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photo. Someone obviously knew that they were rendering the exit unusable…I just wonder if anyone confirmed that this egress door was no longer required.

Is this a remake of the Iroquois Theater in Indianapolis in 1908?
Hopefully not!

Kent,
The Iroquois Theater Fire was in Chicago in December 1903. Not that CHICAGO is proud of that!!!
It’s interesting that the movie matches the movie house situation.
Belko Experiment is a “no way out/escape” movie.
Sounds like one of my nightmares!

Oh, I hope not.
It’s a brutally evil movie.
Assuming the door was removed with the approval of the AHJ as an approved exit; does this mean the theater may be required to match the existing wall structure / fire rating of the wall or does leaving the door in place satisfy the code?
