In 2026 there’s no reason that any school can’t affordably know their doors are closed (which can easily mean locked). I have a no wire, no subscription magnetic system that tells me when my doors are opened and shows when their closed, it’s less than $50 for the monitoring box and two sensors. Sometimes we let perfect be the enemy of good.
Good report and agree lock/ secure the doors.
Not a guarantee, but a start.
Like with TSA “” TSA’s job is “a very difficult task. They have to be right 100 percent of the time.”
Not sure how high schools are protected,,, when some have multiple buildings, and spread out.
Plus, open areas, on campuses.
