I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, in the U.S. we are very fortunate to have such strong codes and enforcement.  I saw the door below in a market in Mexico City – a HUGE market (>5,500 merchants) with a long history of fires.  According to NFPA 70, this door would likely need to be outswinging with panic hardware because of the electrical equipment inside – you can read more about those requirements in this Decoded article.
