I mentioned yesterday that I spent the weekend in Denver for the CONSULT conference (which was fantastic!). One of the activities at the conference was a dinner where attendees ranked the manufacturers they wanted to have dinner with, and we took our assigned guests out on Saturday night. While we were at the restaurant, I took the opportunity to check out the exits.
There were two exits near the restrooms – one had a door covered by a curtain, which is specifically prohibited by the model codes. The other exit had signage stating that the door led to a private area but it sure looked like an exit to me. The door had panic hardware and there was an exit sign with no arrow.
This is the area leading to the restrooms…the exit through a side room leads to the door with the curtain.
I’m not sure about this one…the exit sign is not positioned directly over the door but there is no arrow on the sign and the door has panic hardware along with signage deterring use of the door.
