Joe Phillips of Allegion sent me this Wordless Wednesday photo of a fire door assembly in a school, that has been equipped with brackets for the installation of a barricade device. The parts of the barricade devices that slide into the brackets are in plastic boxes mounted on the wall next to the doors.

They were in plastic boxes on the wall next to the doors, which means that anyone could install them – even an unauthorized person. The ironic thing is that these doors already have Grade 1 panic hardware that is lockable from the inside but will always allow free egress.
