Last weekend I took my daughters and their friends to the movies, and that’s where I saw today’s Wordless Wednesday application. The door in question is the one to the right of the screen at the front of the theater. Although it has the required panic hardware, the double-cylinder deadbolt is a red flag!

Never thought to ask,,,
Does Mexico have a nationwide code?
Or per Region?
Or maybe none enforced in some places?
Funny looking strike plate ?
I wonder if the door even is openable???
The door was open, so yes – it is openable. Mexico does not seem to enforce most code requirements.

Duhhh
Now I see it.
Thanks
As a side note, I am curious about the smoke and fire rating of what appears to be a carpet type material on the door. I get sound treatment but I would want to see the documentation. Possibly the same condition for the wall treatments.
We had a facility that carpeted their walls up to 4 feet AFF. We had Code to back us up. They were amazed when we demonstrated (on a mock-up) just how the material reacted including melting and dripping onto a carpeted or wooden floor. part of the education process to the client.
