Kelly Reese of Allegion sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photos…what do you think? Does this door require special knowledge for egress?

Should have removed the lever, and blanked the hole
So, the “dummy” lever is just used to pull the door closed if the closer isn’t adjusted correctly?! Otherwise, it serves no purpose, right?! Would removal make it better? And maybe no dogging option for an access controlled door?
What’s going on with the blue conduit? It looks like a REX above but maybe some sort of button on the frame?
The more I stare, the more my head hurts 🙂
I think the REX is used to sound a security alarm, since there is also a DPS on the door. The thing on the frame looks like a keyswitch that could disarm the alarm.
The Lever should be removed and holes should be covered. The lever will confuse the user, if they can press the lever and open the door, or they have the press the bar and lever together?
OMG…
Not strictly door-related, but in the first photo, the fire alarm pull station is blocked by a phone.
Good eye, Emil!
