I spent last week in Fort Worth, Texas, at the DHI ConNextions conference. It was a great time, with informative education sessions, lots of networking, and some fun after-hours events. The schedule was jam-packed, but there’s always time to check out the hardware!

Me to my industry friend (from this vantage point): “Hey! Check out those INPACT devices!”
(There were dozens of them in the convention center.)
Him: “Why are the endcaps black?”
Me: “Because they were ordered that way…they could have been powder-coated to match the bar, or the whole device can be powder coated.” Refer to this post, or this one, for examples.
Me…thinking out loud: “These could be a good solution for a 5-foot wide door, since the touchpad measures 32 inches – more than half the width of a 60-inch door.” More on that here.
And just for fun, here’s a photo of one of the classes Mark Kuhn and I taught at the DHI ConNextions conference right after the INPACT encounter. Both of our classes were packed with a lot of enthusiastic participants!
