I received today’s Fixed-it Friday photo from Jim Elder of Secured Design, LLC – it was taken in an elementary/middle school. While this seems like a simple and common fix, it can severely impact security. In addition to monitoring the perimeter doors to make sure they are closed and latch, the ability to dog the device (hold the latch retracted) should be controlled.
If you work with hardware for school projects, what do you recommend for the perimeter doors?

We do not allow the perimeter door to be keep unlock. We remove or block the part that allow to keep the latch retracted.
