When Stan Hubbell posted these Fixed-it Friday photos in the “There’s no crying in Hollow Metal” Facebook group, I knew I had to share them (with permission). How would you handle this installation properly?

Parallel arm would be best. Seriously what are people thinking?
from the other side of course
Since seeing this I have a copy of Top Jamb mount I will show the owner on my next visit
Stan! Too funny a find. Absolutely unbelievable. Hopefully they bring you a killer business op when you hand him the installation instructions
I never came across this field condition first hand however maybe mounting the closer body top jamb with long screws to pass through the trim into the studs may work as intended and will be much better aesthetically . “A”for efforts on this one.
Can you have an exit door that swings into the path of egress?
I would need some more details, but yes – doors are allowed to encroach into the egress path but there are limits. Here is an article about encroachment: https://idighardware.com/2012/10/door-swing-and-encroachment/
