Today’s Wordless Wednesday photos were sent by John DeHaan, a self employed door repairman in Utah. Yet another restaurant’s secondary means of egress secured with non-code-compliant hardware. 🙁

I see the problem,,,,, More than One Operation to get out!!!
And the bag of garlic above the exit sign keeps the vampires out!
Did anyone else notice the bag of garlic over the exit sign. What!
Apparently they’re very concerned about vampires?
Is that a bag of garlic above the exit sign…to keep the vampires out?!
Just sad. Those bolts are definitely not the weakest link.
Also, what are they keeping out… vampires??
Looks like they need something more than the bag of garlic to keep vampires out.
I can’t believe you didn’t highlight the bag of Garlic above the door!! 🙂
I saw it but I figured I’d let you all discover it on your own. 😀

I’m sure it’s Code Compliant Garlic!!!
OK. Bolts are bad… But what’s with the bag of Onions above the exit signs? If it’s vampires someone should tell the guy its garlic that he needs…
Unbelievable… no wait, no it’s not.
For some Garlic “Ajo” is good luck charm. For others to ward off evil spirits. See interesting tale https://ambergriscaye.com/25years/garlic.html
Silly people, you don’t need garlic at the door to ward off vampires–you just can’t invite them in! Which, I’m pretty sure the steel bolts get that point across because one might work for a human, but you need TWO for vampires!
Unfortunately this is a common violations. As fire inspector for over 40 year they taken um off and they magically re appear. More concerned about breaking than life safety. As someone previously said its not the weakest link.Anthony Klimek
