Sometimes when you have a change in level of more than 1/4-inch, you just have to wing it and solve the problem using what you’ve got on hand! I wonder how long this gasketing extrusion could survive as a threshold substitution.
Thanks to Michael Wallick of Kelley Brothers, who was not responsible for this Fixed-it Friday substitution!

It looks like it isn’t even screwed down. They must have used Gorilla Glue to hold it in place!
And a sweep isn’t as thick as a threshold, nor does it have the support fin usually found on the underside of transition thresholds. This probably won’t last long.
At least it’s not gold hammertone like at carpet edges
Got to wonder . Why would they not use a 1/4″ or 1/2″ rise 4 or 5″ wide threshold
It would have also covered the bacteria mold and dirt crack in the flooring material
How long would it last at a hospital? Until the first portable x-ray machine passed over it I imagine.
