Based on the exit sign, this pair of doors is part of a means of egress from this museum exhibit. Taping a paper sign to the door does not change that. There are so many problems with this “exit” that I’m just going to remain #wordless. (Update: These photos are actually of 2 similar pairs in the same area.)

WWFD ( What would Frank DO)
I would call the Fire Marshall & start firing people involved!!!!
OMG
well, don’t set fire to them in that deathtrap.
Shameful!
Tell the to remove and clear the door immediately, followed by a warning ticket,
Classroom lock down device?
Wow have not seen the Ultra Dog in at least 10 years . When I worked for a lock hardware distributor we use to sell them in Canada . However they were soon so called outlawed as they did not meet code any longer as in the door requiring special knowledge and readily openable
It looks like two separate openings since the “Not an Exit” sign is in two different locations in the photos.
You are 100% correct!

At first I thought I was looking at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. My first employer often spoke of the Collinwood school fire of 1908. He also said, “Every generation gets a fresh supply of stupid.” (sic) Nevertheless, I believe we have made some progress in construction and materials, and in mandating standards. Maybe we should try a unit on life safety codes in public high schools. Wouldn’t it be great if our children could point and say. “That’s a code violation?”
My kids CAN point out code violations! 😀
