Years ago, I started to notice a trend when I looked at that statistics for traffic to iDigHardware:

Do you see what I’m referring to?  Those dips!  Every December, many of iDigHardware’s readers are doing something besides visiting iDigHardware – as it should be!  It’s time to wind down, relax, spend time with family and friends, and recharge for the new year.  I need some down-time for all of those things too, so I won’t be publishing new posts for the next week or so.

I thought a lot about what to post today…a detailed article that would last through the holidays?  A cautionary tale about a tragedy that occurred on this day in history?  A Wordless Wednesday photo?  I know it’s only Tuesday, but two weeks without WW seems cruel!

In the end, I couldn’t decide what type of post would be ideal to leave sitting here for such a long time, so today’s post is a thank-you note.  Thanks to all of you for visiting – whether it’s every day or only when you are looking for something specific.  Thank you for your kind words and for telling me how iDigHardware helps you do your job better.  And I am especially grateful for your commitment to code compliance and the safety of buildings.  I know that my area of expertise is only a small part of the overall life safety picture, but it’s an important part.  Together, we will save lives if we continue to share what we know.

Enjoy the holidays, and I’ll see you in 2020!
