Many of you already know how I feel about UL’s message to Close Before You Doze – sleeping with bedroom doors closed increases your family’s time to escape during a fire. I even included information about UL’s program on the back of the updated Allegion Code Reference Guide, where it is seen by thousands of people each month.
UL is currently running a contest to educate people about sleeping with the bedroom door closed, and between now and September 15th, you can help to choose the winning video! The eight videos with the most votes will move on to the next round, where a panel of UL representatives will rank the finalists. Winners will be announced on October 1st, with donations to winning fire departments ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.
Which video is your favorite?*
* I’d love to hear which videos you like and why (in the comments below), but to vote, you need to click the button on the Close Before You Doze website.

I love when she takes a shower and brushes her teeth! 😀

Liked the Omaha Fire Department video and the Flash Max video. They both did a fun engaging video that I could see appealing to old and young alike.
I like the close your door song done with fingers. It is simple and gets the point across.
“You won’t believe it” – it’s short, and illustrative.
The video with the dog is the best to me!
Voted for Greenville Fire / Rescue.
Simple, repetitive mantra to get the message across.
I have shown the UL video to lots of people to show them the life saving benefits of closing your door when sleeping.
I had been trying to explain this to my wife for so long. Showing her the pictures from this page made her understand how important this is.
I gotta go with Charles, the dog for the win https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_POyRABFwY&feature=youtu.be
I checked out quite a few and most of them of them did a great job. Some seemed a little to odd to appeal to more than a select audience. Just my opinion.
