Our hotel in Milan was a small boutique hotel in a mixed-use building – the office of the Argentinian consulate was on the same floor as our room. The entrance door to what would have normally been a large office area led to a hallway with individual entrance doors to very nice hotel room suites. Because the incorrect lock function had been installed on the main entrance door, individual hotel room occupants could have used the thumbturn to lock the main door and prevent access to the other hotel rooms.
This was the Wordless Wednesday solution someone came up with. Unfortunately, it meant that we had to press the button on the wall to exit, and we have seen how that affected egress and life safety in other situations.

It looks like they didn’t think they needed to put a pull in till later, seeing how awkward it sits so close to the middle of the door.
Seems it would have been easier to just install the correct lock?
