I may have mentioned this before, but I love working with our specwriter apprentices. They are so full of energy and they soak up information like I used to in 1985. It’s especially exciting to me when they start noticing the hardware that surrounds them. But the REAL validation is when FRIENDS of the specwriter apprentices start sending them photos of hardware that THEY have noticed…that’s when I know that the plan for world-wide enlightenment is working. 🙂
Thank you to the friend of Marcus Myhaver, Allegion Specwriter Apprentice, for these Wordless Wednesday photos and video!

Sometimes I’m amazed to the creativity of people. This is all wrong, but you have to give it to them lol
No kidding. It works. And that’s impressive.
The return spring retention/guide screw really adds to it…
The location looks like one we were called to quote access control.

Too funny. Love the enthusiasm.
Love the apology at the bottom almost as much as the ingenuity!
That worked surprisingly well!
With a spring back lever vise grip feature!
Wow didnt know they made special ADA approved visegrips!
At the end of the video, I love the comment, “That fix is so ghetto…”.
Necessity the Mother of invention. Lol
I got a call for a gym having issues with their deadlatch paddle just last week. Said it keeps getting broken. Looks like this gym has the same issue. People hitting those paddles like the Hulk.
