That looks to be a “No Passage” lockset…
I’ve run into a few ant and wasp nests in doors but nothing quite like this. This would make me rethink my profession.
Would the scorpion been able to break in a Grade 2 or Grade1 Lock set?

Welcome to Tucson. Have had two in the house since February. Lock had to be pretty loose for him to get in there.
How much do they hurt? Like a wasp? How often do people get stung?
I don’t think this tiny one would hurt much but I’ve heard the stings can be really painful.

Look close – it’s just a shed, like a rattler, they shed their skin. Those small babies hurt !!!
