Working in Fez

My office in Fez

I’m nearing the end of my international odyssey, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend some time with my family AND share some doors with you.  I’ll be passing through Madrid on the way home so I hope to see some amazing doors there as well.  During my trip this site passed a milestone – the first time it has had more than 20,000 visits in one month.  Thank you for continuing to visit, for connecting with me, and for your willingness to share your insight!

I got some other great news during my trip…my article called Questions About Fire Doors won CSI’s The Construction Specifier Magazine Article of the Year Award.  I’ll be accepting the award at the CONSTRUCT conference in Baltimore in September, and I hope to see some of you there.  I’ll be in the Allegion booth – #950, or we can connect at the Bloggers’ Panel on Wednesday, September 10th at 10:30.  You can register for the conference for free, by using this link.

I posted an article on the Fair Housing Act a few days ago, and I’m preparing to submit the final draft to Doors & Hardware very shortly.  If you have time to read it over and leave me any feedback, questions, etc., I’d appreciate it.

And now…for my last post from Morocco, some Fixed-it Friday photos from Essaouira.  If you’ve never visited, it is a beautiful city with an old fort, a busy port, talented wood carvers, a sandy beach, fresh seafood, and the fattest cats in all of Morocco.  Oh – and lots of doors that are fighting corrosion from the salt air.  Enjoy!
