Don’t forget! If you’re in Baltimore, please come to our code update class tomorrow!  If you have an all-access pass to the DHI conference, just show up at 9 a.m. in Room 307 at the Baltimore Convention Center.  If you are at the conference, and you already have an exhibit hall pass, you can attend our code update by filling out the form on this page.  If you are near Baltimore but you’re not registered for the conference, you can purchase a 1-day pass for $35 ($45 on site) and attend the class as well as the party tonight.  The links for that are on this page

I’ve had several CSI chapters ask if they can include this article in their newsletters or technical libraries, so I had it reformatted into a printable PDF.  The article was published in the May issue of Door Security + Safety – please feel free to distribute it as you see fit.  It covers some of the concerns that need to be considered with regard to classroom barricade devices.

Can you guide me, are latches on bathroom stalls required to be opened from the outside, I’ve been to so many facilities, whether hotels, casinos, supermarkets, where they are not and they break and the facility manager doesn’t replace the latch but puts in a slide latch, and are single use bathrooms allowed to use a slide bolt or is that also a code requirement, thank you ahead of time for your assistance.
