WW: “Anger as table is spotted in front of fire door…”

Category: Egress,Wordless WednesdayLori @ 12:55 am Comments (7)

This is the moment I’ve been dreaming of…an article in the Somerset (UK) News about someone tweeting their anger (the article said he was “enraged”) regarding the placement of a table and chair in front of an egress door!  The next time you see something like this, don’t stay Wordless and walk on by – say something!

Sometimes you have to love social media!!

Still have not found “ fire” exit in the code.

  2. Jeff Tock says:

What a great idea! I will start tweeting pictures from non-compliant hotels as I see them!!

  3. Tim Cannon says:

I would bet it is also locked…

  4. Marc Cerisier says:

The two comments on the original article are so sad. Those two would probably be enraged themselves if loved ones perished because the door was blocked…

I’ve had similar situations with people like those two commenters. I often compare emergency exits to seat belts. Chances are you’ll never use them but you better hope they work in an emergency!

  5. Jerry Davis says:

Plus there is a deadbolt on the door!

  6. Mike Elia says:

I frequent a memory care facility where one of the exits is blocked by a piano, likely to keep residents from wandering out.
