My next online Decoded class will be held on Wednesday, December 17th from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Eastern. This is the second class in the series of 4 presented on behalf of the Door & Hardware Institute, and I will cover the requirements for fire door assemblies, including:
- the purpose of fire doors
- fire test methods
- closing and latching requirements
- maximum clearances
- astragals and smokeseal
- fire exit hardware
- field modifications and job-site preparations
- flush bolts and coordinators
- glazing in fire door assemblies
- maximum size of signage and type of attachment
- fire door assembly inspection requirements
