My next online Decoded class will be held on Wednesday, December 17th from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Eastern.  This is the second class in the series of 4 presented on behalf of the Door & Hardware Institute, and I will cover the requirements for fire door assemblies, including:

  • DHIthe purpose of fire doors
  • fire test methods
  • closing and latching requirements
  • maximum clearances
  • astragals and smokeseal
  • fire exit hardware
  • field modifications and job-site preparations
  • flush bolts and coordinators
  • glazing in fire door assemblies
  • maximum size of signage and type of attachment
  • fire door assembly inspection requirements

To register for Class 2 or the other classes that are being held in January and February, click here.  The classes are free for DHI members, and $25/class for non-members.  Each class is eligible for 5 CEP points for participants in DHI’s Continuing Education Program.

If you missed Class 1 (Introduction & Accessibility) and you are a member of DHI, you can view the recording for free by accessing the members-only DHInteractiv system.  Your DHI member login and password are required for DHInteractiv. Once you login, click the Members Only tab, then click on Resources on the left to access the webinar archive.
