It’s Wordless Wednesday again, and Lance Werner of Allegion just sent me this photo of what happens when the wrong lock function is supplied (here’s another one).  Creative solutions are more fun than buying a new lock…hopefully it’s not a fire door.

    Lori, your wordless(wacky) Wednesday reinforces that creativity is in abundance. I am amazed at the ingenuity of some of the pictures you share. If you do not think about life safety, some are very interesting.

    It looks like they put some effort into bending the steel bar just enough to keep it off the face of the door. I wonder why they didn’t fasten a piece of rope to the jamb with a hook on the end to catch the end of the lever. At least then, if it is a fire door, the dogging device would be a fusible link. Right?
