I dedicate today’s (almost) Wordless Wednesday post to my wonderful Moroccan mother-in-law, who passed away on Memorial Day. The gigantic titanium doors above lead to the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. They reportedly weigh 10 tons, and are operated electrically. To give you an idea of the scale, that’s me sitting in front of the large doors, with the smaller pair to my left. —>>

I am very sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Please pass my condolences along to your husband and children. As a son who has lost his mother, I feel for you all for such a great loss. The doors you picked to honor her are very fitting in my mind. For me, my mother was the glue that bound the family together and is held at an extremely high level of esteme. The momumental doors in the center are how I viewed my mother in comparision to others, except my father of course, of whom I could say the same. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
