The surface rods are attached to a device that requires tight grasping and turning, the active leaf has carry bars on it, but no means of deactivating the surface rods, thus making the panic worthless.
They’ve basically created an inactive leaf as an emergency exit. The door on the left cannot open until the door on the right is opened.
Both doors have hardware and therefore must both open independent of the other. The left door has stops attached that will not allow it to open unless the right door is opened.
the von duprin on the rhr leaf should have been removed when the Detex over lap plates were installed. also the contact wiring is sloppy as it may get caught up in the top latch.
Umm… Kind of hard to egress on the left door with the field engineered non-mechanical door latches installed.
How does left door open with the metal plates across the meeting gap?
The carry bars are mounted on wrong leaf.
Looks like the right door does not have adequate panic hardware bur most important the left door is inoperable unless one can get the right door open. If the left door closes last it will sit ajar on the plates. Looks like someone missed all the lessons on fire doors and hardware. The responsible people should be awarded a fine.
It appears the CVR or mortise exit is restricted by stops mounted to lock edge for door leaf
The Detex vertical rods are installed on the wrong leaf. That product is designed to be installed on the inactive leaf. The rods are spring loaded and held in the locked position by the main unit latch. When the Main unit is released, the vertical rods also release allowing both doors to be opened. Having said that, this arrangement is not the correct one for an exit requiring Panic bars on both leaves.
