NFPA 3000 is the Standard for an Active Shooter / Hostile Event Response (ASHER) Program, which was developed last year to help facilities prepare for, respond to, and recover from such events (more info here).  There is a great opportunity to learn more about this standard in a special free session at the NFPA Conference and Expo on June 18, 2019 in San Antonio.

The session will cover what has occurred at past active shooter / hostile events and how these incidents influenced the national standard.  After this powerful session, attendees will have the chance to learn about the ‘Stop the Bleed’ program and then participate in a town hall style meeting where members of the technical committee will discuss how NFPA 3000 is already being used every day throughout the country and around the world.  This program will be helpful to anyone working toward keeping our communities safer – school teachers, emergency managers, first responders, facility managers, and others – we all have a role to play in this process.

The morning session is free of charge, and there is a more in-depth, hands-on afternoon session for just 70 attendees at a cost of $250 each.  For more information about this upcoming training, visit NFPA’s page about the event.
