Over the holiday break this article hit my inbox, and the photo left me Wordless…
In previous posts, I’ve written about my love and respect for firefighters and also about how upsetting this fire hose idea is to me. But I had to write yet another post and share this photo, because it clearly demonstrates that the fire hose is not effective against second-graders, let alone an adult intruder. I won’t repeat all of my concerns – they’re in the previous post. As I’ve said before…as a last resort anything goes, but THIS SHOULD NOT BE PLAN A!

Who is Leroy and is he trying to ruin that closer?
“Leroy Jenkins” maybe? He ruins everything!
REALLY!!!! How hard would it be to get your arm in there and yank off that hose??? It also seems that the hose is on the door all the time…unless the teacher is taking a photo of the kids trying to bust out of the door. REALLY….. Get rid of the hose!!!
So let me get this straight…a fire hose sleeve that hardly works on an old door closer is expected to work on a new closer? They do realize that only 3 children have any weight behind that door and one of them isn’t being very effective. A single adult on the pull side would only need to open it a fraction and then pull the door..also, great to know that the door serves as great cover for the shooter while he can blindly spray bullets into the classroom. Well, at least they have their faux security blanket.
