The cork does prevent from damaging the frame if the door was open too much, but that could be easily solved with the stop set correctly.
Yes, lets attach some extremely porous, absorbent cork as door pulls on a bathroom door. Should probably hang a few hand sanitizer dispensers next to that door too.
