I am working on a job right now that has embossed steel doors. The bottom rail is less than 10″. Nothing protrudes from the door. Is this still an ADA issue?
If the door is required to comply with the 2010 ADA standards or ICC A117.1, that area on the push side of a manual door has to be flush and smooth. Recesses created by panels or vision lights are not compliant if they are within that area of the door.
