Yes, this is a fire door, and yes, the bollard is permanently bolted in place.

Do you suppose that a forklift, pallet jack, or whatever the bollard is protecting the door from, stuck the bollard? Base plate looks bent.
This opening has heavy forklift traffic so I think that’s a good guess.
I guess their interpretation of “protect all openings” was to protect the doors from being damaged. They’ve done a good job of it.
Since it’s ‘Wordless Wednesday’, can you hear me shaking my head in disbelief?!
