Oh well, nobody’s perfect! I made a typo in my current article for Door Security + Safety Magazine, and Dave Jenosky of Jenosky Consulting noticed…at least I know someone is paying attention!
Can you spot the problem? If not, scroll down.
For doors serving assembly and educational occupancies, the I-Codes require panic hardware for doors equipped with a lock or latch, serving a calculated occupant load of 50 people or more, not 100 people or more as I accidentally stated in the article. The NFPA codes require panic hardware for these doors when serving a calculated occupant load of 100 people or more.
For more on the latest changes to the I-Codes, you can read the full (and corrected) article here!

I’m sure after so long of talking, eating and sleeping about all the different codes………one could maybe make a minor mistake.
Thanks for what you do to keep an lonely ole installer informed on changes, that I apply or question on occasion.
Thanks Bob! 🙂
