Lee Frazier of Allegion sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photos, taken while attending a hockey game at an arena with a capacity of more than 20,000 people. This is one of the reasons why I recommend a mid-rail on full glass doors with panic hardware – it makes this type of “security” much more difficult to install.
While these doors were not locked with the cables when the photos were taken, the locks are clearly being used “after hours.” This often leads to padlocks and chains being left in place on some doors while the building is partially occupied. I can’t imagine that the locks are removed from every egress door while teams are practicing, for example.
WWYD? OK? Or NO WAY?
